Claudie Saxe’s painting anchors itself in an initial gesture : That of accepting matter, its violence, its volume. Her board are first of all the basis of an accumulation : Layers upon layers of paint answering each other, succeeding each other. They suggest a slow and irreversible process, a primordial temporality – that which precedes the body and from which the body must however one day extract itself from. At its origins, the painting peers into a confused genesis of disparate elements, the clash of color and movment. Here is located the energy to which Claudie Saxe’s work returns and renews itself from, again and again. From this clamor, though, one can already distinguish a glint of organic matter, the appearance of secretions, the weaving of nascent veins – the first tremors of life.
